When it has to be there

In light of my new Monday, Wednesday, Friday publication schedule I’m using this Thursday to do some site clean up and page reorganization. I realized I don’t really have enough freelance stuff to show off to warrant it’s own page yet and I’m starting have quite a number of these travel posters (call me gallery 1988).

I want to talk to you about a shirt.  Anyone that knows me knows I’m a huge movie dork so it should come as no surprise that most of the t-shirts I’ve purchased in the last 3 years came from http://www.founditemclothing.com/.  The shirt I want to talk about in particular is their “Why Waltz When You Can Rock & Roll” tee.  It’s a simple one color graphic on a grey shirt but at the same time it speaks volumes about my personality.  First of all I think its an awesome shirt in its own right.  The fact that I’ve never met anyone that gets it is just icing on the cake.  In case you were wondering, here is why no one gets it. It is a reproduction of shirt worn by one of the Frog brothers in the 1987 movie Lost Boys.  The movie itself is the epitome of 80s cool and thus in the cyclical world we live in, just as cool now as it was then, god I wish I could get away with wearing a civil war jacket.  Anyway, the shirt is only briefly shown in one scene in the movie, seriously that was the best screen cap I could find.  To reiterate, this is a reproduction of a shirt shown in one scene of a 15-year-old cult movie about teen vampires, ugh I can’t even write those last two words without hating myself thanks a lot Twilight.  Regardless of the movie, that kind of dedication shows seriously deranged behavior from the guys at Found Item and my finding and purchasing it is revealing of just how deep my nerd depths go.

Now that you know why I’m always wearing that silly shirt I thought I’d try to get you to forget by show off a couple of cool/funny links I saw this week.

In a similar vein as Found Item I’m pretty much constantly jealous of these guys: http://www.lastexittonowhere.com/

but because I want to make those shirts not buy them

Overused meme of the week most relevant to me:

Thanks for reading, see you tomorrow with a new poster!
