I just finished a banner for my friend Rob Duffy’s Bandcamp page so it seemed like the perfect thing for my Wednesday post.
I took the Super Mario background and touched it up, the corgi’s, cyclops character and sign are all pixel work by me. Bandcamp seems like the next wave of band blog and I like they simplicity of it. Back to Rob, his band is called Cyclops Rock is part of the 8bit nerd sampling genre that has emerged in the last few years. His most famous work to date is the Jackson 5 Nyan Cat mashup you may have seen floating around the internet. This was definitely something different for me and I can’t say how much pixel art I’ll be doing in the future but overall I had fun with it.
